JERSEY CITY, N.J. - July 8, 2009 - Hard Rock International’s Logistics Team has presented the staff at the Kuehne + Nagel distribution center in Louisville, Ky., with its inaugural "Rockin' and Stockin' Award."
The quarterly award -- a guitar emblazoned with the Hard Rock and Kuehne + Nagel logos -- will be presented to the distribution center with the highest overall performance. This guitar may travel among the five Kuehne + Nagel distribution centers, depending on which staff wins for the quarter.
In 2004, Hard Rock International outsourced distribution of music-related products, collectibles and fashion merchandise to Kuehne + Nagel. Kuehne + Nagel handles 202,248 SKUs and 36,000 units daily from its distribution centers in Davenport, Fla.; Louisville; Whittier, Calif.; and Toronto. (A Honolulu distribution center, managed by another logistics services provider, reports to Kuehne + Nagel.)

Hard Rock also leverages Kuehne + Nagel’s KN Login, a Web-enabled inventory management tool, that gives its buyers complete inventory visibility, order and shipment status through one system. This is critical given Hard Rock's plans for new-product launches, which require flexibility to react to sudden demand spikes.
