Schindellegi / CH, June 6, 2005 – Kuehne + Nagel, the worldwide operating logistics group, announced today a signed contract to design and implement a lead logistics global supply chain solution with Connexion by Boeing (CBB), a high-speed information service provider to the commercial airline, maritime and business aviation industries. The agreement combines Kuehne + Nagel's lead logistics expertise with Connexion by Boeing SM high-speed Internet service to deliver in-flight connectivity to airline passengers.
Under the agreement, Lead Logistics Solutions, a Kuehne + Nagel business field, and CBB, a business unit of The Boeing Company, jointly will develop a solution to support new global customer installations of the Connexion by Boeing SM service. The companies are in the process of implementing the solution, which will be fully operational by the third quarter of 2005. Kuehne + Nagel will provide CBB with full supply chain management services, including warehousing and distribution, inventory management and global transportation management.
Connexion by Boeing selected Kuehne + Nagel after a thorough, competitive search for a lead logistics provider.
